Happy Halloween from Woody!

We had lots of fun on Halloween. T was Woody from Toy Story, and we went trick-or-treating with our good friends H, J & little A. A was adorable in her Elmo costume. T even got the hang of the trick-or-treating - he walked up to the door holding mama's hand and grabbed pieces of candy from the bowl as we went from house to house. He didn't last too long before he crashed out in the stroller. The costume was so cute we're bummed that he won't be wearing it again!

Fun with Cousins

We had a great time in Delaware last weekend visiting with J's sister and brother-in-law, and meeting our beautiful new nephew, RUS! He is quite an amazing little guy and we were so blessed to see him and hold him so soon after his birth. Little T spent most of the time following R around the house and wanting to play with every little toy that she had.

*Almost* Walking

Sorry it's been a while since we've posted any adventures. I started my new job three weeks ago so we've been really busy getting adjusted! T has been doing increasingly well at daycare. There is one other little baby there, A, who also goes full time. They are buddies - they take naps at the same time and "talk" to each other before drifting off to sleep. So cute! A is already walking so we hope that T will follow her lead! In the meantime, he's cruising around the house with his little walker from Gma K. Enjoy the video!

The Best Toy EVER!

Grandmom & Granddad sent a little playhouse for T for his birthday. We finally got around to putting it together this past weekend, and boy, do we wish we would have done it sooner! We could not keep little T away from it, even when Daddy was putting it together. This thing is so awesome because it captivates his attention for more than 30 seconds! Mama can actually clean up breakfast in the morning now. Lifesaver!

Labor Day fun at the Beach

We had a great time at the beach this afternoon. T has such a blast in the waves. When he sees a wave coming, he gets so excited and starts flapping his arms and kicking his feet, then kicks his feet in the water. He also loved crawling around in the 1" deep water right at the shore. So fun! Another plus - Bedtime was a breeze tonight!

Birthday Boy!

Yesterday was T's first birthday!  Wow what a difference a year makes. He had a blast opening presents, eating cake, and "talking" to grandparents, cousins and uncles on Skype.  It was a cyber-party.    We can't believe that just one year ago he was this tiny little guy...

Birthday Eve

So tomorrow is T's first birthday - I can't believe it!!!  We are so excited to give him all his new toys and to watch him eat his first bites of cake.  What an amazing first year it's been, it is hard to believe how much he has changed in 12 short months.  All week we've been reflecting about what we were doing last year. Here's a photo of me in labor in the evening of August 21st, 2008 - around 6pm. I didn't realize I was in labor at the time, but a few hours after this photo was taken, I definitely knew for sure. Wow, I was in for a VERY long night.  

First Trip to Half Dome

We returned yesterday from a fabulous trip to the Sierra Nevada mountains, little T's first foray above sea level.   He had a little trouble adjusting... we're not sure if it was the elevation, or just being in a new place away from home. He had trouble sleeping and was clingy for most of the trip.   But, we still had a wonderful time and even made it to Yosemite for a day trip.  You can see Half Dome in the background behind T's head in the photo below.   

The highlight of our trip to Yosemite was that we saw a BEAR on our way out of the valley!!! So cool. We took a photo from the car, but it didn't really come out so you'll just have to take our word for it (you know kind of like the one about the size of the fish we caught and had to throw back in the lake :-)).  He was so cute, just foraging by the river. I was shocked to see one out in the open and so close to people!

Out of all the natural wonders that we saw on the trip, T's favorite pastime was still playing with his stroller. Go figure!  

Like father like son?

Lately, everyone has been saying that T looks most like me. However, when we took a second look at John's baby photos, the resemblance seemed to be uncanny. Here is a photo of John at 12 months, and one of little T just a week shy of his 1st birthday, wearing the same jacket! I think he looks just like his Daddy!  What do you think???   

Surfer Boy

We had a fun, lazy Sunday this past weekend.  T and I joined Daddy in his morning surf session.  Well, when I say "joined," I mean we went for a walk in the BOB while Dad caught some waves.   Afterward, we hung out in Swamis park and T had lots of fun climbing all over J's board and playing with the leash.  Some surfers walking by mentioned that T is about ready to paddle out!  Hmmm.... one thing at a time, let's get him swimming first.
